You can add a new holiday you need by clicking on the green +New Holiday button at the top of the page.
A pop-up will appear with fields to fill to create the new Holiday.
Holiday - the name of your new holiday
Bill/Pay - the multiplier by which you want the holiday calculated. The options (regular, 1.5x, 2x, 2.5x) are the same for both, but you can mix them up. i.e. Bill 2x and Pay 1.5x.
Holiday Time - is your holiday a Full Day (midnight to midnight) or a Custom time (the day before Thanksgiving from 4pm until midnight, for example)
Range and Recurrence - this allows you to set the recurrence pattern, for example, if a holiday takes place on the second Monday in June each year, this is where you can set that.
Start/For?End by - These fields allow you to set a start date, number of years to recur, and an end date.
Click the Green Save button to save your custome holiday.
Edit Holiday - if you want to make a change to a holiday already in place, click the pencil edit icon to the right of the holiday. A new pop up will appear.
You can make your edits here.
Best Practice - if you do not bill or pay a premium on holidays, click the trash can next to them to delete them for the year. This will prevent them from being flagged as holidays. All holidays are flagged by default, regardless of multiplier. To avoid confusion, it's best to delete holidays that are not billed or paid at a premium.
Please note that holiday settings do not carry over from year to year. You should make it a practice to review the next year's holidays as part of your year end activities. There is a drop down for the years in the top right corner of the Holidays tab that allows you to navigate to other years' settings.
